Meiko’s Account

 

From 1957-1958, Muriel Orr-Ewing (aka Meiko) hosted Berthe Grimault at The Grove Finishing School where she served as headmistress. She hoped to give the young author training in etiquette, but her attempts ultimately failed. Chapter two presents excerpts from a lecture about her experiences with the ingenue author given by Orr-Ewing to the University at Buffalo’s Women’s Club in the 1980s.
